7th Annual National Philanthropy Day Award

CSP Management, Corporate Philanthropist of the Year

Ithaca, New York, Friday, November 14th, 2008

CSP Management and owner Jerry Dietz exemplify the outstanding philanthropic role a small business can play in our community. Through his active involvement with the Southern Tier AIDS Program's Ride for Life and in chairing Ithaca’s Taste of the Nation/Share Our Strength, Jerry has helped raise hundreds of thousands of dollars to fight AIDS and for local hunger and poverty relief services. CSP Management has also played a major role in supporting the Kitchen Theatre Company, Hangar Theatre, and the new youth theatre, Running to Place Productions.

About National Philanthropy Day
National Philanthropy Day (NPD) is a special day set aside to recognize the great contributions of philanthropy - and those people active in the philanthropic community - to the enrichment of our community. National Philanthropy Day provides an opportunity to reflect on the meaning of giving and all that it has made possible. Through NPD, participants are able to show appreciation for all that has been accomplished in the name of giving, as well as show that there is still more to do.

Best Student Landlord: CSP Management

Jerry Dietz says, "Who even knew? In this town, that's a special category. While it's good to be the best student landlord, we try to be a good landlord to everyone. It's nice to have this recognition. Nice that people had a good enough experience with CSP to put our name down."

Asked how many students CSP serves, Dietz says that they don't keep track. "The number ebbs and flows, but I'd says at least 30-35 percent of our rentals. There's an interesting shift in student housing, with more and more willing to live right downtown. Did you know that 75 percent of our city's housing is rental property? Whenever I hear that I'm always surprised. This is a very transient town, and there's a big need to fill. It's not just students."
