It can be hard to keep track of everything there is to do in Ithaca in the summer — even for people who have lived here for years. And if you’re new to Ithaca, the choices can be overwhelming.

If this is your first summer living in Ithaca, welcome! This guide is for you. We pulled together some of our best recommendations for where to go and what to see when the weather’s nice; the guide includes special events, outdoor activities, and popular spots around town.

We’ve tried to include plenty of recommendations that are free and open to the public. One of the great things about Ithaca is its community spirit: there are plenty of activities throughout the summer that don’t cost anything!

As the introduction to the guide says — this is just a sampler, not an exhaustive list of everything that’s available. We hope these recommendations will get you exploring our community. Ithaca truly is one of the best places to be in the summer.

Looking for more things to do in Ithaca? Our friends over at visitithaca.com have a ton of information on their website, including a full list of Ithaca restaurants and a page for events in Ithaca.

Also, check out the neighborhood guides we’ve featured on our blog – for Collegetown, and for Fall Creek. Keep an eye out for more neighborhood guides coming soon.

Hope to see you around town this summer!
